I’m Amy Toman, the founder of PetSitter SEO!
I’ve been online for quite a while. I sent my first email back in 1987, and I remember when Netscape ruled the Web (in my case, starting in 1994).
During my corporate life, I was the assistant to a Senior VP at Citibank on Wall Street. In the mid-90s, I moved to Bell Labs in New Jersey, where I worked with amazing engineers who used both email and the “World Wide Web” as part of their daily routines.
When I was there, I learned about the intricacies of the Web, and I became obsessed with it. I’ve been online ever since.
In my last office position, I worked for PetSittingOlogy, at which I learned a lot about both website construction as well as search engine optimization (SEO). I love both subjects! I’ve devoured everything I can find about SEO, and have had some great fun with website construction and edits.
I also met a bunch of wonderful people while working at PetSittingOlogy; pet sitters are the best, and I really enjoy working with them. They are mostly small business owners who are experts in their fields but who recognize the need for a website. But pet experts are not tech experts, nor should they be. Really, would you hire a computer geek to care for your chihuahua? Nope, I wouldn’t either.
Realizing that the burgeoning pet sitting industry needs a friendly face to help business owners with their marketing efforts, I started PetSitter SEO. My goal is to help small business owners show their best faces online, and to succeed through simple tactics.
Come along with me on my SEO journey. I’ll bring the cookies and the cocoa!
